How to resolve the “2FA Required” error

Learn how to resolve the “2FA Required” error by setting up two-factor authentication (2FA) for your dLocal Merchant Dashboard account.

Updated over a month ago

If you encounter a “Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Required” message when trying to access the dLocal Merchant Dashboard, it means that 2FA is mandatory for your account.

Follow the steps below to enable 2FA and regain access:

Step 1: Locate the email to enable 2FA

When you see the "2FA Required" message, an email with instructions to set up 2FA is automatically sent to your registered email address. Check your inbox or spam folder for an email from dlocal.com.

Note: If you can’t find the email, try logging in again to trigger a new email.

Step 2: Follow the 2FA setup steps

  1. Open the email and click on the link provided to start the 2FA setup process.

  2. Download and install an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator (IOS, Android) or Microsoft Authenticator, on your device.

  3. Use the authenticator app to scan the QR code displayed on the screen.

  4. Enter the code generated by the authenticator app in the corresponding field.

5. Click Continue and securely save the recovery code provided.

This recovery code is essential for regaining access to your account if you lose access to your authenticator app.

That’s it! Two-Factor Authentication is now enabled. The next time you log in, you’ll need to enter your credentials and the verification code generated by your authenticator app.

Step 3: Restart the process (If necessary)

If you're unable to complete the 2FA setup or encounter an issue, you can restart the process:

  1. Go back to the dLocal Merchant Dashboard login page. For the best results, consider using an incognito window.

  2. Log in again to prompt the system to resend the 2FA setup email.

Step 4: Contact support

If you’re unable to locate the email or complete the process, reach out to our support team at [email protected].
