How to enable and disable two-factor authentication on your dLocal account.

Updated this week

What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security process that enhances account protection by requiring two different forms of verification to confirm a user’s identity before granting access to an online account or system.

Enabling 2FA adds an additional layer of security, helping to safeguard your account against unauthorized access, password theft, and other malicious attempts.

You can easily set up 2FA on your device using an authenticator app of your choice.

How to set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

To enable 2FA with your preferred authenticator app, follow these steps:

Note: If your account has Single Sign-On (SSO) enabled, this option will be managed by your organization, and 2FA cannot be enabled manually.

Step 1: Access the User Profile

  1. On the top-right corner of the dashboard, click the user profile icon or navigate to Profile.

Step 2: Download an authenticator app and Enable 2FA

  1. Download and install an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator (IOS, Android) or Microsoft Authenticator, on your device.

  2. Click the Enable 2FA button. A new window will appear to guide you through the setup process.

  3. Use the authenticator app to scan the QR code displayed on the screen.

  4. Enter the code generated by the authenticator app in the corresponding field.

  5. Click Continue and securely save the recovery code provided.

This recovery code is essential for regaining access to your account if you lose access to your authenticator app.

Step 3: Confirmation

That’s it! Two-Factor Authentication is now enabled. The next time you log in, you’ll need to enter your credentials and the verification code generated by your authenticator app.

You can confirm that 2FA was successfully enabled by checking the notification in your dashboard.

How to Disable Two-Factor Authentication

Step 1: Access the User Profile

On the top-right corner of the dashboard, click the user profile icon or navigate to Profile.

Step 2

Click Disable 2FA.

Important: We strongly recommend keeping 2FA active to protect your account. It provides an extra layer of security and helps prevent unauthorized access to sensitive information.
