How to activate and deactivate two-step authentication on your dLocal account.

¿What is Two-Factor Authentication?

2FA stands for Two-Factor Authentication. It is a security process that requires users to provide two different authentication factors to verify their identity before they can access an online account or system.

You can easily set up this two factor authentication system on your device and add a level of security. Authenticator Apps can prevent password theft and other malicious attempts from gaining access to your account.

Set up

If you want to set up your prefered Authenticator app, follow the following steps:

Step 1

On the top-right of the screen, click on the the user profile icon or go to User Profile.

Step 2

  • First, download and install and authenticator app, we suggest Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.

  • Click on the Enable 2FA button and a new window will pop up to start the configuration. If your organization has SSO enabled, this option will be disabled as this setting will be managed by your organization.

  • Scan the QR code with your selected Authentication App and input the code provided by it in the following screen:

  • Copy and securely save the recovery code provided when clicking continue. This code will help you recover your account in case you lose access to your Authenticator App or other issue.

Step 3

Done! Now your two-step authenticator has been enabled. The next time you log into your account you will be asked to use your credentials + your 2FA code provided by the Authenticator App.

Check your two-step authentication was successfully enabled by checking the following message in the dashboard:

To deactivate two-step authentication please follow the steps below

Step 1

On the top-right of the screen, click on the profile icon or go to User Profile.

Step 2

Click on Deactivate two-step authentication. We highly recommend keeping it active, as it give an extra layer of security for your account and prevents people accessing to sensible data.
